TRAVERSE CITY — Haserot Beach on the Old Mission Peninsula was the setting for the July 27, 2012, wedding of Katie Sattler of Cadillac and Ryan Bilby of Jackson, Mich. Pastor Jerry Lange of Northport Covenant Church officiated at the sunrise ceremony.
Erin Sattler of Cadillac attended her sister as maid of honor. Katie chose Pamela Frandsen of South Jordan Utah, and Anne Thompson-Renforth of Chicago, as bridesmaids, and Guillermo Manzano of Orlando, Fla., as man of honor. Kylie Spurgeon of Lansing was the flower girl.
Ryan chose his best friend, Derek Woodruff of Traverse City, to serve as his best man. Mike Galloway of Champaign, Ill., and Lee Bilby of Jackson, were groomsmen, and Shanna Spurgeon of Lansing was groomslady. Devin Spurgeon of Lansing carried the rings.
The newlyweds greeted guests at a reception hosted at the Holiday Inn West Bay. Katie and Ryan honeymooned on a Carnival cruise to the Caribbean with stops in Ocho Rios, Jamaica and Grand Cayman islands. They are living in Chicago.
Katie is the daughter of Joseph and Patricia Sattler of Cadillac. She received a bachelor's degree in theatre and interpretation from Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant and is studying toward a master's degree in the art of teachng for elementary education at DePaul University in Chicago.
Katie also is employed as a barista by Coffee Chicago.
Ryan is the son of Lee Bilby of Jackson, Mich., and Deborah Dillingham of Mesick. He graduated from Baker College of Cadillac with a bachelor's degree in business leadership and also holds a Michigan Real Estate License.
Ryan is assistant property manager at the Flamingo Apartments working for TLC Management in Chicago.
