Local teams prepare to continue on 'Odyssey’

State finals slated to be held in April in Grand Rapids

TRAVERSE CITY — Several local teams qualified for Odyssey of the Mind state finals competition based on their performance Saturday at the regional contest at Traverse City East Middle School. The regional event was originally scheduled for March 3, but was rescheduled due to inclement weather.

Twelve teams from seven Traverse City Area Public Schools participated in the regional Odyssey of the Mind tournament. More than 500 students took part in the annual creative problem-solving competition.

Regional competition winners will advance to the state finals on Saturday, April 21, at Davenport University in Grand Rapids. For more information, see http://www.miodyssey.net.
