Spaghetti helps Chinese orphanage

FROM STAFF REPORTS ---- The Record Eagle Thu Apr 05, 2012, 07:18 AM EDT

TRAVERSE CITY — A spaghetti dinner to benefit the Chinese Children's Orphanage in Beijing is scheduled for Tuesday, April 10.

The dinner, hosted by Howard, Dianne and Shen Walker, will be at the First Congregational Church, 6105 Center Road, from 5 to 7 p.m.

Dine-in or take-out meals are $10 for adults, $5 for children or $25 for a family.

Proceeds will be sent to the orphanage to help replace and update water pipes and a filtration system. Money also will be used to purchase mattresses and sleeping bags.

Priest uses big rig to make special deliveries
