Lake Ann — Vendors are being sought for the Oct. 20 Lake Ann United Methodist Church's Arts and Craft Show.

Leland — Reservations are needed by Friday, Aug. 10, for the Wednesday, Aug. 15, meeting of the Leelanau Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel.

Learn to crochet
Traverse City — Nikki Lennox will lead a four-week "Learn to Crochet" class at the Peninsula Community Library, 2699 Island View Road.

Spartan beach bash
Frankfort — The MSU Alumni Club of Benzie County will host its annual Beach Bash Thursday, Aug. 9, rain or shine.
The event will be held at Bellows Park, the corner of South Shore Drive and Bellows Avenue, with a 5 p.m. social hour and a 6 p.m. potluck. The bash is free for club members; $10 for non-members. Art auction
Frankfort — The Oliver Art Center will hold its annual Art Auction on Friday, Aug. 10.
Titled "A Shore Thing," the fundraiser will be held 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the art center, 132 Coast Guard Road, with picnic fare and live and silent auctions. Tickets are $25 in advance; $30 at the door. They are available at the art center, Hull's of Frankfort and Crystal Crate and Cargo in Beulah.
Class of '77 reunion
Traverse City — The Traverse City High School class of 1977 will hold its 35-year reunion Friday and Saturday, Aug. 10-11.
A golf outing followed by an informal get-together and barbecue will be hosted Friday at The Crown Golf Course on West Silver Lake Road. The reunion starts at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Holiday Inn West Bay, 615 E. Front St.

Kalkaska — The second Kalkaska Street Festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, on 4th Street and the north half of the municipal parking lot.
Blue October plays
Streeters has booked alternative rock band Blue October for an Oct. 13 show at Ground Zero. Featuring Traverse City St. Francis grad Matt Noveskey on bass, Blue October is best known for hits such as "Hate Me," "Into the Ocean," "Dirt Room," and "Say It." Tickets are $27 in advance. Ground Zero will also have an Oct. 26 appearance by southern rock/alternative hip-hop act Rehab. Tickets for that show are $12, and the event features opening acts Critical Bill and Funktion.
