April E. Kurkowski, DO, has joined the staff of Kalkaska Memorial Health Center as a specialist in family medicine.
Dr. Kurkowski graduated from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences and completed a residency at Munson Medical Center, Traverse City. She practices at Kalkaska Rural Health Clinic, 419 S. Coral St., Kalkaska.

Sandra Carden, director of Union/Yoga LLC, of Lake Leelanau, recently announced the Union/Yoga 200 Teacher Certification graduating class. Union/Yoga Teacher Certification is approved by the National Yoga Alliance and licensed by the State of Michigan. The 28-day intensive training was held at Union/Yoga in Lake Leelanau and at the Homestead Resort, Glen Arbor.
The following graduates completed all requirements for 200-hour Yoga Teacher Certification: Marsha Brunett Buhr, Suttons Bay; Nikki Caldwell and Aimee Meeker, both of Traverse City; Amy Hubbell, Lake Leelanau (Chicago); Cherie Spaulding, Leland; Saryn Hettinger, Portage; and Mike Sutherland, Glen Arbor.
