Love your gut
TRAVERSE CITY — Oryana Food Cooperative will hold a "Love Your Gut" store tour tonight from 6 to 7 p.m.
The tour is designed to help identify the foods and supplements that can restore a healthy gut and promote a healthy, robust digestive tract.

Cooking with Perry
TRAVERSE CITY — Chef Perry Harmon will teach a class in "Warming Winter Soups" at Chateau Chantal on Jan. 26 from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.
It's part of a series of classes he'll be teaching at the winery on the Old Mission Peninsula this winter. Cost is $95 per person. Those attending should bring an apron and a knife.

Frank's RedHot suggests some quick recipes for entertaining that deliver as much spice as taste. Check these out.
Spicy Black Bean Dip
1 (15- to 19-oz. size) can black beans, drained
1 1/4 c. shredded cheddar cheese, divided
1/2 c. sour cream
1/3 c. Frank's RedHot Original Cayenne Pepper Sauce
1/4 c. minced yellow onion
1 small jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced
Garnish: Minced green onions, chopped tomatoes, sliced black olives
Heat oven to 350°. Mash beans in large bowl. Stir in 1 c. cheese, sour cream, hot sauce, onion and jalapeno. Stir until smooth. Spoon into greased 9-inch pie plate. Bake 20 minutes or until mixture is heated through. Top with remaining 1/4 c. cheese. Garnish as desired. Serve with tortilla chips or vegetables.
