CEDAR — Mr. and Mrs. James C. Lautner of Cedar observed their 30th wedding anniversary on Nov. 27, 2012. They celebrated with a family brunch.
James Carl Lautner and the former Melinda Claire McManus were married on Nov. 27, 1982, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Traverse City. The Rev. Jim Mausolf performed the ceremony.
Mr. Lautner has worked for the company now known as Hamilton Agronomy for 42 years. Mrs. Lautner has been a Leelanau County Commissioner for 18 years, director on the Cherryland Electric Board and maintains several farm markets in the summer. Together, Mr. and Mrs. Lautner operate the Lautner family's 114-year-old farm. Mr. Lautner grew up in Leelanau County. Mrs. Lautner grew up in Grand Traverse County.
The couple's children are Ginger (George) Newman of Maple City, and Clinton Lautner, Alexis Lautner and Amelia Lautner, all of Cedar. They also have one granddaughter, Keira Newman.
