Arbutus has two Michigan books

FROM STAFF REPORTS

TRAVERSE CITY -- Arbutus Press has released two new books by Michigan authors.

"Page One: Whiteout," by Nancy Barr, is about Upper Peninsula reporter Robin Hamilton on the trail of her fiancees murder. It is the third book in the Page One series. Hamilton couldn't wait to get out of Escanaba and ends up with a job at the Chicago Tribune. After her fiancees murder, she heads back to the U.P., but finds that neither distance nor a job at the local paper can keep away the memories -- or the mystery.

"Mystery of the Voyageurs' Rendezous," by Doris Holik Kelly, is the second in the Big Mitten Mysteries series, a series for young readers set in various locations around Michigan. "Rendezvous" features Jared and Sadie as they join the re-enactors at Fort Michilimackinac in Mackinaw City. When Jared runs into Murphy, the meanest and smelliest voyageur ever, he knows something is fishy.

Jared and Sadie were introduced in the first book of the series, "Mystery of the Copper Turtle," set on Mackinac Island. The next book, due out in the spring, is "The Mystery of the Bone Scavengers." It takes place in St. Ignace.

Both books are available at bookstores, www.amazon.com or through Arbutus Press at www.arbutuspress.com. "Whiteout" sells for $19.95. "Rendezvous" sells for $7.99.
