Lions Club selling Christmas trees
MAPLE CITY -- The Cedar-Maple City Lions Club is offering fresh-cut Christmas trees for sale.
The sale dates are Nov. 28 and 29 and Dec. 5, 6, 12, 13, 19 and 20. Trees will be sold from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays.
The tree lot is in Leelanau County, a half-mile east of the blinker at M-72 and County Road 669. You can cut your own tree or a Lions Club volunteer will cut it for you.
Donations of $10 for spruce and $25 for fir trees are appreciated. Money raised will go to area food pantries.

Lighthouse group holds meeting
TRAVERSE CITY -- The Fox Island Lighthouse Association will hold its annual meeting and potluck Dec. 12
The meeting will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Great Lakes Children's Museum, 13240 S.W. Bayshore Drive.
There will be a short video presentation highlighting the past season's activity on the island. Fox Island lighthouse merchandise and South Fox Island prints by local photographer Ken Scott will be available for purchase.

Christmas trees benefit scholarships
ACME -- The East Bay Masonic Lodge and the Acme Civic Association will be selling Christmas trees to benefit the Jerry Huffman and Keith Cook memorial scholarships.
The trees will be sold at the Masonic lodge, next to Acme town hall from 5 to 8 p.m. weekdays and 1 to 8 p.m. weeknights starting Nov. 27.
The scholarship has been administered for more than 30 years and helps local students pay for a college education.
