Love Light Trees honor loved ones
TRAVERSE CITY — A Love Light Tree Ceremony will honor loved ones at 2 p.m. Sunday.
The tradition was started by Jane Leidich, a Munson nurse, who wanted a way to remember her mother who died of cancer in 1995. The tree-lighting and memorial ceremony offers an opportunity to honor loved ones people miss during the holidays.
Pre-service music begins at 1:45 p.m. at the First Congregational Church, 6105 Center Road. The speaker will be Lisa Ashley, executive director of Hospice of Little Traverse Bay in Petoskey.
Donations will be accepted to help fund the work of Munson Hospice and Palliative Care. Throughout December and January, the Love Light Tree and memory book will be in the lobby of Munson Community Health Center near the urgent care. Three additional Love Light Trees are on the lawn in front of Munson's main entrance and the front of the health center.
