TRAVERSE CITY — The annual Dennos Museum Holiday Art Fair runs today through Sunday, Oct. 26-28, throughout the museum.
The Holiday Art Fair features fine arts and crafts by about 50 Michigan artists in all price ranges, with many items below $30.
Mediums represented include blown glass, soft and metal sculptures, pottery, prints, printings, photographs, jewelry, fibers and much more.
Many of the artists have been in the sale for a number of years, but each year new artists are added to make the show fresh and exciting, according to show organizers.
Christmas and Hanukkah gifts, arts and crafts kits and more are also among the items available to holiday shoppers.
A large selection of Christmas ornaments from around the world, as well as Hanukkah and Christmas gifts, are offered, with merchandise chosen specifically for being handmade or unusual.
A variety of books relating to the arts, sciences and the Inuit peoples are being featured, as well as stocking stuffers and small gift items that children can choose for family and friends.
As part of the fair, there will be a benefit raffle featuring art works donated by holiday artists to help raise funds to offset the cost of school visits. Last year, more than 2,000 students benefited from the fund.
The holiday fair is staffed by volunteers, and proceeds from the fund-raiser event go toward the museum and education programs.
There is no admission charge for the three days of the sale.
Holiday fair hours are today and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.
