Lupus support group

Traverse City — Linda Cronk will discuss steps to take to live a full life at the Wednesday, July 18, meeting of the Lupus Alliance Education and Support Group.

The meeting will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in room A at Munson Community Health Center, 550 Munson Ave.

Free dental care

Grayling — The Crawford County Commission on Aging & Senior Center and the Michigan Coalition for Oral Health for the Aging are providing free preventive dental care Friday, July 20, by appointment.

Eligible seniors must be Crawford County residents age 60 or older, have some natural teeth and have not seen a dentist in the past 12 months.

Summer music

Traverse City — Crescent Woods Gatherings will feature local entertainers making their first appearances at the event.

The fourth season offers entertainment from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. on four Saturdays, July 21 through Aug. 11, at the amphitheater behind Unity Church, 3600 Five Mile Road.

The line-up includes the Tongue Family July 21; Sisters With Class July 28; guitarist Francis Carew Aug. 2; and the Blue Shadow Band Aug. 11.

The suggested donation is $10 for adults and $5 for children.

Rabbi honored

Traverse City — Congregation Ahavat Shalom will honor its founding rabbi, Chava Bahle, at a special service Saturday, July 21.

Bahle served the congregation from its inception in 1997 until 2007.

Ahavat Shalom Rabbi Seth Castleman will condict the service at 10 a.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Grand Traverse, 6726 Center Road.

Summer Church

Leland — Leland Summer Church will welcome guest speaker the Rev. Dr. John Stewart on Sunday, July 22.

Stewart is a retired Presbyterian pastor and also retired as a professor from Princeton Theological Seminary in Grand Rapids.

He will address the congregation at 9:30 a.m. at Leland Community United Methodist Church, 106 N. Fourth St.

Benefit concert

Traverse City — The Yoder Family will headline a gospel concert to benefit Pastor Marshall and Mary Collins.

The concert will start at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 22, at The Presbyterian Church of Traverse City, 701 Westminster. Other musicians also will perform.

Donations are appreciated and checks should be payable to Church Women United, with "For the Collins" on the memo line.
