Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Daryl Martin, a 2007 graduate of Alba Public School, recently was promoted to his current rank while serving with Marine Wing Headquarters Squadron One, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, Okinawa, Japan. Martin was promoted based on sustained superior job performance and proficiency in his designated specialty. Martin joined the Marine Corps in August 2007.

Army Pvt. Thomas Rainey has graduated from the Direct Fire Infantryman One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga. The training consists of Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training. Rainey is the son of Thomas Rainey, of Bellaire. He is a 2008 graduate of Bellaire High School.

Air Force Airman Adam Robinson has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Robinson earned distinction as an honor graduate. He is the son of Trish Robinson, of Lowell, Mich., and Jerry Robinson, of Traverse City. He is a 2008 graduate of Lowell High School.
