Pasty dinner

FRANKFORT — A pasty dinner fundraiser Saturday, July 7, benefits Benzie Home Health Care.

The dinner will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church on James Street in Frankfort. Dinner — a pasty, coleslaw, ice cream sundae and a beverage — costs $10. You also can preorder baked or frozen pasties for $5 each. Call 325-0138.

Learn to preserve

TRAVERSE CITY — MSU Extension Services and Oryana Natural Foods Market will sponsor food preservation classes in July.

Classes meet from 6 to 8 p.m. at the MSU Extension Services office, 520 W. Front St., suite A.

The schedule is: July 17, "Canning High Acid Foods Using a Water-Bath Canner"; July 24, "Canning Low Acid Foods Using a Pressure Canner"; and July 31 "Freezing and Drying Foods."

The fee is $10 per class or $20 for the series. Registration is required; call 947-0191, or stop at the Oryana Customer Service Desk, 260 E. 10th St.
