Reservations and payment for the 15th annual Robert Burns Dinner are due Wednesday, Jan. 24.
The dinner, hosted by the St. Andrews Society of NW Michigan, is scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 29, 5-8 p.m., at the Cottage Cafe, 420 Munson Ave. There will be a buffet dinner, haggis, bagpipes, Highland dancing, Burns readings and door prizes.

Tickets are now on sale for the annual Tasters' Guild Auction. The event is scheduled for Feb. 24 at Northwestern Michigan College's Great Lakes Campus.
There will be multiple cuisines prepared by students at the Great Lakes Culinary Institute and more than a dozen tasting tables, as well as local, regional and international wines.
This year's auction features more private party events to bid on. Tickets are $50 per person, available online at www.nmc.edu, at the Great Lakes Campus and at Folgarelli's Market. Proceeds benefit the culinary school.

There will be a sausage-making demonstration Saturday, Jan. 21.
The demo, by Jackleen Carmack, is scheduled for 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Crystal Crate and Cargo in Beulah. She'll be demonstrating equipment by Waring, including a grinder and stuffer. She'll create two to three types of casing, or link, sausages. There will be hands-on opportunities and tastings.
