NORTHPORT -- The field for Northport Public School's superintendent position has been narrowed to five candidates.
School board members this week chose the five from a field of 31 applicants to begin interviews next week.
They are: Charles Chase, superintendent of Marion Public Schools; Greg Eding, principal at Creekside Middle School in Zeeland Public Schools; John Hoeffler, Northport's interim superintendent and principal; Tina Templin, superintendent of DeWitt Public Schools; and Jeff Tropf, a science teacher at Suttons Bay High School.
Each interview should take about 90 minutes, board president Denise Branch said.
The public is invited and can submit questions in writing during the interviews.
The schedule is:
-- Tropf: Nov. 3, 6 p.m., school library
-- Hoeffler: Nov. 3, 8 p.m., school library
-- Eding: Nov. 4, 6 p.m., school library
-- Templin: Nov. 4, 8 p.m., school library
-- Chase: Nov. 5, 6 p.m., cafeteria
