Man allegedly robs station at gunpoint

GRAWN -- Authorities are searching for a man who allegedly robbed a gas station at gunpoint.

Grand Traverse County sheriff's deputies responded to the Grawn Shell Gas Station around 3:35 a.m. Thursday after a man in his late teens or early 20s allegedly robbed the business.

A clerk described the suspect as between 5 feet 5 inches and 5 feet 10 inches and around 150 pounds with blue or green eyes. The suspect also wore a black hooded jacket and brown pants, officials said.

"One subject came in with a gun and held up the attendant," Sheriff Tom Bensley said. "The attendant gave him the money, and he ran away."

A sheriff's dog was used in an attempt to track him.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff's Department at 995-5152 or Silent Observer at 947-TIPS.
