CADILLAC — Traverse City West put itself in position to win another Big North Conference golf championship.
The Titans won the league's sixth tournament Friday at Cadillac by shooting a school record 301. Cadillac was second (304), Petoskey third (308) and Traverse City Central fourth (311).
West's previous record was 304.
West, which has won the last two league tournaments, now enjoys a two-point lead over Petoskey heading into next week's league championship at Treetops.
"The guys are playing with a lot of confidence," West coach Brian Davis said.
West put six golfers in the 70s. Monday. Ian Davis was sixth with a 74, Chris Deines seventh with a 75 and Andrew Hartman and Josh Broad tied for ninth with a 76. In addition, Payden Myers fired a 77 and Gates Muller a 79.
Homeschooler Nikolaj Brons-Piche was the medalist with 69.
TC Central's Patrick Colburn was second overall with 70, Trevor Mattis shot 78, Zack Smith had 79 and Elias Eilers shot 84.
The West JV finished second with 353. For the Titans, Steve Gaston shot 82, Erik Charters 88, Ryan Sievers 89 and Bobby Livengood and Collin Heming 94.
Central JV fired a 375.
Charlevoix wins Lake Michigan Conference
Charlevoix won the Lake Michigan Conference meet at Antrim Dells on Friday to wrap up the overall league title.
The Rayders shot 331, followed by Grayling with 339 and St. Francis with 353. The teams finished the same way overall.
Charlevoix was led by Wyatt Drost's 78 while Ty Jones shot 82, Thomas Rich had 83 and Ryan Wimmer shot 89.
Grayling was led by medalist Taylor DesEnfants' 77.
St. Francis had 82 from Evan Miller, 83 from Mike Borke, 93 from Kolter Hornyak and 95 from Stefan Schofield. Miller finished fourth overall in the league standings while Borke was seventh and Hornyak was an all-league honorable mention.
