HUDSONVILLE -- Traverse City Central is heading back to the state finals.
The Trojans qualified for next week's state meet by finishing second Thursday at Hudsonville's Division 1 regional, and TC West's Gaby Muller also qualified.
"I'm not sure any of the teams down here knew how well we've been playing," Central coach Lois McManus said. "We took a lot of them by surprise."
Holt won the meet with 358 while the Trojans were second at 359. Hudsonville also qualified with 380.
The state finals will begin Oct. 16 at Michigan State's Forest Akers West.
TC Central last qualified as a team in the spring of 2006.
Last year, Trojans junior Chelsea Guoynes qualified as an individual and finished seventh overall.
"It feels really good and I'm really happy the whole team made it," Guoynes said. "It's going to be a whole new experience. Last year was a lot of fun, but this year will be even more fun."
Guoynes was the medalist Thursday with a 3-over 77. Courtney Dye was fifth with 83, Maria Frick had 99, Rachel Jurik shot 100 and Katie Madison had a 102.
Muller will be headed to the state finals for the third time in her career after shooting an 82 to qualify as an individual.
The Titans' other top scorers were Kali Sanford (105), Jessie Thomas (109) and Jordyn Severt (110). TC West shot a team total of 406.
