PELLSTON -- Forest Area's first win in two seasons was a long time coming.
But, on the other hand, you could see it coming.
The Warriors topped Pellston 41-37 after going 0-21 last year and starting off this season 0-10.
"We've had a lot of close ones," first-year coach Rick Magee said. "We've lost two games by two (points), one by four and two by five. So when I say they haven't won in two years, it's not that they haven't been competitive. They have been competitive."
All of Forest Area's games this season have been decided by eight or fewer points, aside from league games against No. 1-ranked Central Lake and No. 2 Johannesburg-Lewiston.
Using a 10-2 second-quarter spurt and continuing on with a 15-7 third stanza, the Warriors led by 12 with two minutes remaining.
Marissa Ingersol led Forest Area with 11 points and Kassie Magee added 10.
The win also avenged a 43-41 setback at home to Pellston.
