TRAVERSE CITY -- City and county authorities arrested a Traverse City teen who may be behind a series of thefts of items from unlocked vehicles.
A witness contacted authorities Sunday shortly before 11 a.m. and said a young male was entering locked vehicles in the north alley near the 200 block of East Front Street. A Grand Traverse County sheriff's deputy spotted and detained the suspect, who allegedly was in possession of a stolen iPod, a cell phone, lighters, computer parts and clothing items.
City police determined property had been taken from several vehicles parked in the alley along the 100 and 200 blocks of East Front Street. The suspect is 18 years old and from Traverse City. He was jailed and is expected to be charged with larceny.
