BEULAH -- Police found hundreds of marijuana plants growing on state land after receiving a tip.
As many as 1,000 plants could be growing in dense, overgrown forest off Pioneer Road in Weldon Township, Benzie Sheriff Rory Heckman said. Police were in the process Tuesday of removing the plants for destruction.
Police don't know who planted the marijuana, Heckman said. Anyone with information is asked to call the Benzie County Sheriff's Department at 941-7940 or Silent Observer at 947-TIPS.
