TRAVERSE CITY -- Police are investigating a reported home invasion and sexual assault in Green Lake Township.
A woman, 50, who lives on Karlin Road, told police she was awakened by two men who came into her house at about 3 a.m. Tuesday. The men beat her, and one of them sexually assaulted her, police said. Police believe at least three men were involved in the incident.
The suspects left the residence in a dark, Wrangler-style Jeep.
The woman didn't recognize the suspects, Grand Traverse County Undersheriff Nate Alger said.
Alger said the woman was "significantly," but not critically, injured. She was taken to Munson Medical Center.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Grand Traverse Sheriff's Department at 995-5000 or Silent Observer at 947-TIPS.
