Woman allegedly filed false report

TRAVERSE CITY -- Police arrested a local woman after authorities said she filed a false police report.

Traverse City Police and a Grand Traverse sheriff's deputy drove Saturday night to an Eighth Street residence after a woman reported a knife fight. But residents told authorities there was no fight, and they earlier refused to let a woman enter the house.

Authorities later found the woman, 45, of Traverse City, at a local bar, where she told them she filed a false report, according to a police statement.
