Brew hosts trio

Traverse City — Acoustic electric trio the Weather will perform from 8 to 10 p.m. Saturday, July 7, at Brew, 108 E. Front St.

The trio plays original rock songs as well as select covers. They released a CD, El Bajo, in 2010, available at amazon.com. For details, call 946-2739.

Library book sale

Benzonia — The Friends of the Benzonia Public Library will hold their annual used book sale Friday and Saturday, July 6-7.

The sale will feature an assortment of books sorted by topic and a separate room for rare and collectible books. It will be held at Mills Community House, 891 Michigan Ave. For details, call 882-4111.

Peninsula picnic

Traverse City — The Congregational Church of Old Mission, 18687 Old Mission Road, will serve up brats, burgers, side dishes and drinks outdoors at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 11. The public is invited. Call Penny Paulley, 223-4844, to learn more.

Art classes

Frankfort — A new series of summer classes are starting at the Oliver Art Center, 132 Coast Guard Road.
