Women's History Project events
Frankfort — The Benzie Area Women's History Project will observe International Women's Day at two events on Thursday.
An opening reception for the "Art by Women" exhibit will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Oliver Art Center, 132 Coast Guard Road. At 7:15 p.m., the 2011 documentary "The Harvest" will be shown at the Garden Theater, 301 Main St.

Railroad Society hosts meeting
Traverse City — A video presentation will highlight Tuesday's meeting of the Railroad Historical Society of Northwest Michigan.
The group will meet at 7 p.m. at the History Center of Traverse City, 322 Sixth St.
President George Gregory will be the presenter.
Guests are welcome.
Jewelry party will aid women at risk
Traverse City — Glen Eagle Retirement Community will host a jewelry party to benefit WAR (Women At Risk) International.
The Grand Rapids-based nonprofit organization unites and educates women and children in areas of human trafficking and sexual slavery.
The group also partners with safe houses to rescue, redeem and provide alternative means of income for these women.
The party will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, March 8, at Glen Eagle, 3950 Sumac Drive.
