Old Settlers Picnic
Burdickville — The 120th Old Settlers Picnic will be hosted Sunday, Aug. 5, at the Picnic Grounds.
Activities start with an informal service at 10:30 a.m.
A barbecue lunch will be served from noon to 3 p.m. and is free for visitors 80 and older. Other activities also are planned.

Program on kayaks
Traverse City — Michael Gray, owner of Uncommon Adventures, will discuss kayaking at noon Monday, Aug. 6, at the Senior Center Network Building, 801 E. Front St. He also will talk about upcoming kayaking lessons and trips.

Farce on tap
Benzonia — The Benzie Players will stage Ken Ludwig's farce "The Fox on the Fairway."
The play will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Aug. 3-4; and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, at Mills Community House, 891 U.S. 31.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students at the Benzie County Chamber of Commerce or at the door.
Leelanau landscapes
Leland — Landscape paintings of Leelanau County by Anne Corlett, Royce Deans, Angela Saxon and Lynn Uhlmann will be on exhibit at the Old Art Building 111 S. Main St.
Show hours are 3 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3; 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4; and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, with artist receptions from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
