  • Brenden Everts, a student at Traverse City Central High School, participated in the U.S. Naval Academy Summer Seminar program.
  • Recently, Eagle Scout Josh Chorey lead a team that made and installed two benches for the playground at Bishop Baraga Catholic School. Chorey, a former Bishop Baraga student, graduated from Cheboygan Area High School this year. He was assisted by two younger Boy Scouts, Tyler Baldwin and Eric Hansen. This community service project was the last requirement for Josh to attain Eagle Scout status.
  • Chris Hall, a TC Central High School sophomore member of TCAPS SCI-MA-TECH program, earned the High Honors Award and a $250 savings bond for his project titled "Investigation Into Gender-Based Multisensory Analysis" at the 8th Annual Northern Michigan Mathematics, Engineering, and Science Symposium. Four additional students earned Honorable Mention Awards and $100 savings bonds: Sophomore Noah Mitchell-Ward, a member of TCAPS SCI-MA-TECH program at Traverse City Central High School earned an Honorable Mention Award for his project titled "Effect of Gender on Multitasking Ability." A team of three seniors from TBAISD Career-Tech Center's Manufacturing Technology Academy program earned Honorable Mention Awards for their project titled "Robot Construction": Dakota Chapman (Benzie Central), Austin Edwards (Traverse City West Senior High School), and John Paul Koenig (Homeschool).
