Summer art classes

Traverse City — Summer classes at Andre's Place, 5222 N. Royal Dr., start Tuesday, June 12, and continue through Aug. 23.

Classes are available for ages 6-12, 13-17 and 18-60 and are for people with physical, emotional and cognitive challenges. For details or to schedule a time to register for programs, call 631-2477.

Plein Aire art

Traverse City — The "Art and the Garden" celebration includes a Plein Aire Paint Out.

Artists will be capturing the beauty of the Historic Barns Park at the Grand Traverse Commons starting at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 16. Visitors can observe and talk with the artists and a reception will be held 5-6:30 p.m. Paintings created during the day may be purchased at the reception.
