TRAVERSE CITY — A man accused of abusing two horses was found not guilty at trial.
An 86th District Court jury on Tuesday found David Prosch of Mayfield Township not guilty of a misdemeanor count of abandoning or being cruel to two or three animals.
Deputies with the Grand Traverse Sheriff's Department allege Prosch didn't adequately feed a horse on his property. It and another horse had facial scars from ill-fitting gear, deputies said. Prosch was charged in September.
"I respect the jury's verdict," Grand Traverse County Prosecutor Bob Cooney said. "There were a lot of complex issues involved."
