TRAVERSE CITY — A man will spend 16 to 24 months in prison after a drunken joy ride through Suttons Bay ended with him assaulting an emergency medical technician.
Marcell William Schocko, 20, was sentenced Tuesday in 13th Circuit Court for assaulting, resisting and obstructing a police officer and operating while intoxicated.
Police clocked Schocko driving 105 mph in the village on Dec. 7. He crashed the car in a wooded area along M-22.
Schocko was pulled from the vehicle, then assaulted an emergency medical technician, police said.
He was previously convicted of aggravated assault and home invasion for separate incidents in 2010.
