All we have is the vote
It's an election year again for our new president. If you are anything like me, you are not happy with the way things are going. It is very plain to see that our leaders in office are doing a very poor job.
I can only do so much to make my life better than it is. But as far as jobs go, the environment, inflation, climate changes and a whole bunch of other important issues that I cannot do anything about by myself, all we are given is the vote to make positive changes.
We need to make our vote count. How? By learning about our candidates and not paying attention to the TV. We should ignore the rhetoric and deception that comes from the media. We need to get the facts by learning about the candidates.
It is obvious to me that politicians only care about their pensions, their mansions, their money and their perks. I am just a worried U.S. citizen concerned with the quality of life in this country and our world.
Fairy tales and trolls
Fairy tales, tolls, bridges and trolls (based on Detroit bridge foible)
In the days of old, beware of the bridge to fairy tale land, a scary toll.
In the present day, roads and bridges are national and locally owned, taken care of by our wonderful, careful and efficient government.
Trolls, I'm going to be one, white hair, close to 60, before you know it, 80-something. Drooping, sagging, crabby, well you get the picture.
The next time someone offers me to buy the Brooklyn Bridge I'll buy it on a payment plan and I can be the troll with the toll.
I can't wait.
