---- — Smitten with the mitten
I've been tempted to write this for about six months now but wanted to wait until the honeymoon phase (in case that was the culprit) wore off. About as long ago, we (my husband, young son and I) moved 1,000 miles from the Atlanta, Ga., area to be here in Traverse City.
I can't begin to put down into words how happy we are that we made that decision.
We've settled into the local hospitality, natural beauty and relaxed nature of this place effortlessly and have felt incredibly lucky to be doing so every step of the way.
I sincerely hope the people of this place -- young and old alike -- recognize what a treasure a place like Traverse City is with it's near-perfect cross section of old-world nostalgia and new-world amenity.
At the risk of sounding utterly cheesy, I dare say I'm rather smitten with the mitten. Just thought you should know.
Thanks to everyone contributing to the stellar small-town vibe of this place.
