So who's the boss?

Amidst the brouhaha regarding Rush Limbaugh's latest lascivious and gratuitous comments about the young Georgetown law student and her attempts to address the all-male congressional health care committee, his repugnant character traits were once more sharply revealed.

But while Mr. Limbaugh's vulgarity and mean-spiritedness were again explicitly exposed, another highly prominent and even more sinister conservative's views, at least by proxy, were exposed as well.

We're talking about the mild mannered but self-proclaimed "severe" conservative, Willard Mitt Romney.

Among the profitable holdings of presidential candidate Romney, through his continuing relationship with Bain Financial, is Clear Channel, Rush's radio network.

This makes Mr. Romney Mr. Limbaugh's boss. And if ever there were a situation where one might consider firing someone, this would be it.

Until now, however, Willard has hidden behind his button-down corporate and pious guise, profiting in more ways than one from Rush's continued vitriol, without tie-in or personal responsibility.

At least until now.

Prayers go out to Stowe

It is my opinion Judge David Stowe and his family are courageously struggling as best they can with the painful devastation brought to them by his wife's problem.

I repeat, his wife's problem. I find it totally appalling the lack of privacy that has been afforded them.

The judgmental attitudes and personal attacks that this family has had to endure as they work through this intensely personal, private and painful family tragedy is reprehensible, in my opinion.

My prayers go out to Judge Stowe and his wife, Cynthia, their son and their entire family.

Good days, fun times

This is in regards to Hickory Hills. I was glad to see the write-up about it as it brought back memories of when my sister and I skied the slopes.

Big Swede was a lot of fun in those days. We would ski at night when the slopes were not crowded. One night it was so icy that we snow-plowed down the hill and almost crashed into the clubhouse.

Also, we had a lot of snow in those days and coming back from skiing we got stuck in the snow bank. But still, those were the good old days and fun times. I'm glad to have been part of it.
