Check fracking facts

Is fracking safe? Most people do not understand what this process involves.

Some folks go to meetings to learn more. We all continue to use the products that are produced from fracking.

If we stop the process, we will become even more dependent on the Saudis and other energy producing countries. They will smile all the way to the bank.

A magazine that has been around for years, "Popular Mechanics" checked every angle and published it in the past year. If you want the facts, go to Google, put in fracking and read the "Ten Myths of Fracking." Then you can make up your own mind.

Beehives worrisome

As a bee sting allergy sufferer, I know how severe the consequences can be from a single bee sting.

I would be disappointed if the city invited the increased risk that inherently comes with allowing beekeeping in town.

Area residents, visitors, their children and pets will be exposed to increased bee activity, and inevitably, bee stings.

It's simply a nuisance for some, but life-threatening for many others like me.

Putting thousands of people at increased risk for bee stings is a bad idea.

The city should steer clear of beekeeping and its potential hazards.
