Congressman Dan Benishek is committed to veterans and couples VA hospital experience as a physician and his Veterans Committee assignment to help our heroes. He introduced legislation, "Break the Backlog," creating a seamless transition to access veterans' benefits. Disability claims through the Detroit VA office are not processed for 15 to 18 months, and 66 percent of all claims are over 125 days. Veterans deserve better. They stood up for us; he stands up for veterans; and I am standing up for him. Support Dan Benishek, and return him to Washington for another term to continue work supporting veterans.

How would you like a part-time job, as little as 30 hours a year, that pays as much as $400 an hour or $12,000-plus a year in total compensation? And once you have this job each year you get to vote on your compensation package, which by law cannot be reduced. All the job requires is for you to attend 16 to 18 meetings a year that last on average about an hour and a half.
How do you get this job? Simply fill out a petition, only three signatures required, and file for one of the four trustee positions in either Blair or Green Lake Townships. Unlike a Lotto ticket, filing a petition doesn't cost you anything and your chances of winning the trustee jackpot is much greater. But you must hurry; the filling deadline to run as an Independent is July 19th.
If you chose not to enter the trustee lotto, but think your tax dollars could be better spent, you may want to attend the township's budget meetings held in June when the trustees will vote on their compensation package, which happens to be double what is paid by neighboring townships.
