Forced to leave
I wonder about our governor; why, when people are hurting with taxes, does she pick on tobacco and alcohol for her solution? Why doesn't she and the rest of the government take a pay cut? They have a full-time government and cannot manage to balance the budget. Maybe it's time to go part-time, and say no to people that want money. People are being driven to steal and raise the crime rate.
We as individuals have to spend what we have, not what we do not have. Taxes, taxes, taxes, soon there will be no one left to tax.
With the rate of unemployment in Michigan there will be no more workers left; we're forced to leave.

Change the status quo
God bless Dr. Tim Lambert for his opinion on the dire need for universal health care.
My husband and I have many friends, relatives and acquaintances in Canada.
Not one of them would trade their health care system for our barbaric system, where if you don't have good insurance, you go bankrupt, homeless or just die.
It's true. There's no more waiting for services than we have here.
If there's a life-threatening situation, it's addressed quickly as an emergency in Canada.
It's a fact that far more people in the U.S. die from lack of good health care than in Canada.
I'm so saddened and angry at the relentless campaign by the powerful health insurance industry, lobbyists and others to deceive and spread fear for reform that is so needed now before our whole health care system is bankrupt.
A single-payer system is the right thing to do morally and fiscally.
Right now, the only people with guaranteed good health care are those who work for the government or anyone whose jobs were paid for by our taxes (including part-time county workers).
Those who have theirs have little incentive to change the status quo.
