Time to be careful
It's that time of year and many organizations are having bake sales as a fundraiser. I have always loved to buy/support these wonderful sales.
But lately, I've had some bad experiences and decided to remind all you wonderful bakers to be extra careful with your hygiene.
Recently, my last two baked goods purchases at craft shows have produced broken glass from a measuring cup and human hair.
Last year I ran across weevils and more hair.
Understandably, I am leery of buying anything from a "homemade" baked goods sale, and wondering what's in them that could harm me or gross me out.
So please, clean your kitchen, check your glassware for chips and cracks, check your dry ingredients for critters, and please-please-please tie your hair back and cover it so it doesn't end up in my next peanut butter cookie.

Here for you all
I am a proud Vietnam veteran and served during Desert Storm on active duty with a United States Army Reserve unit in Mississippi.
In recognition of Veterans Day, my heart and thoughts go out to all the young men and women in harm's way, may they be safe and strong as I know they are.
Brothers and sisters of the U.S. Armed Forces, let it be known that you are not forgotten, all the people here and abroad support you and your efforts in defeating the enemy and helping to keep peace in the world.
On Veterans Day, as we remember those who have given their lives for our great nation and the many wounded vets trying to adapt to a new life, and as well as all who have memories of combat, we are there for you all.
