Nothing for adults

What is there to draw adults to Clinch Park once the $1.3 million Phase I has been completed? I'm not talking about the "Clinch Park Concept" that appears on the Traverse City website (a very pretty drawing that includes the $2.6 million version of Phase I and goes far beyond Phase I). Rather, I am referring to what the city can afford now.

My understanding is that the watered-down version contains neither a concession stand nor a kayak rental building. The current building that now houses the bath house, concession stand and kayak/bike rentals will be replaced with just a bath house that is about the same size as the present one.

This affordable Phase I plan includes neither development of "The Point" nor the Lawn Terraces. But it does include a playground, a splash pad, an artificial stream (whose water has to be piped in from the artesian well that is actually located west of Con Foster) and a bath house plaza.

As an adult with no young children, why would I want to come to this Clinch Park? But I will visit a zoo at the drop of a hat and ride a steam train whenever the opportunity arises.
