Police present at TCAPS meeting

TRAVERSE CITY — A city police officer attended a Traverse City school-board meeting to offer security in anticipation of impassioned public comment about a proposed change to the district's anti-bullying policy.

No incidents arose during Monday's meeting.

An officer also was present at a March 21 meeting, Superintendent Steve Cousins said. It was a week after school-board members first discussed adding sexual orientation to a list of protected groups in the policy.
