Health by the Bay. Give blood, check blood pressure and more at the Open Space Park North at Grandview Parkway and Union Streets.

9 a.m.

Million Dollar Hole-In-One Golf Contest. Bay Meadows Golf Course; 5550 Bay Meadows Drive; Traverse City.

9 a.m.

Very Cherry Distinguished Senior Breakfast and announcement of 2012 Distinguished Senior. Advanced reservations were required. Traverse City Elks Lodge; 625 Bay St.; Traverse City.

10 a.m.

Cherry Classic Film Series screening "Sabrina." Free screening. State Theatre; 233 E. Front St.; Traverse City.

10 a.m.

Cherry Connection: Bringing Together Festival, Farm, and Fruit. Visit a research farm and orchard in Leelanau County for guided tours, exhibits, cherry product samples, petting zoo, hands-on experiments, kids poster coloring contest and other activities. Take the Cherry Connection Shuttle from the pick up on the west side of the visitor center on Garland Street. The bus is scheduled to leave every half hour from 9:30 a.m. until noon. The bus makes return trips back to Traverse City. Michigan State University Horticultural Research Station; 6686 S. Center Highway; Traverse City.

10 a.m.

Cherry Pins & Pizza. Fee required for bowling. Lucky Jacks Bowling Alley on Garfield Avenue near South Airport Road.

10 a.m.     Festival Open Space Park. Pin registering, food court, ticket box office, souvenir tent and Cherry Farm Market. Festival Open Space Park Central at Grandview Parkway and Union Street.

10 a.m.

Heroes' Day. Festival-goers serving in all branches of the Armed Forces, as well as public safety and homeland security personnel will be recognized. Festival Open Space Park West at Grandview Parkway and Union Street

10 a.m.

Kids' Bubble Gum Blow contest with prizes. Registration from 9:30 to 10 a.m. for ages 4 to 12. No fee required. F&M Park at Railroad and Washington Streets; 201 Railroad Ave.; Traverse City.

Princess Tea. Tickets are sold out. Hagerty Conference Center at Northwestern Michigan College's Great Lakes Culinary Institute; 715 E. Front St.; Traverse City.

"A Walk Through Festival History" gallery exhibit and festival vintage films. Free event. InsideOut Gallery, 229 Garland St.; Traverse City.

Kids' Turtle Races. A competitive event for kids ages 3 to 9. Registration begins at 2:30 p.m. No fee required. F&M Park at Railroad and Washington Streets; 201 Railroad Ave.; Traverse City.

4:30 p.m.

CHERRYOPOLY Tournament. Open to the first 36 players. Winners from Monday and Wednesday return on Friday an overall CHERRYOPOLY Tournament Champion. Festival Open Space Park at Grandview Parkway and Union Street.

5 p.m.

Adult Cherry Pie Eating Contest. Free registration will open 30 minutes prior to event at stage. Festival Open Space Park Central at Grandview Parkway and Union Street.

6 p.m.

Bingo. Open Space East at corner of Grandview Parkway and Marina Drive.

6 p.m.

Cherry Pit Spit Contest. Free registration 30 minutes prior to event at event location. Festival Open Space Park Central, near the flower bed at Grandview Parkway and Union Street.

7 p.m.     National Writers Series, An Evening with Janet Evanovich. This event is sold out. City Opera House; 106 East Front St.; Traverse City.

8 p.m.
