DNR buys land in Wexford Co.

CADILLAC — The Michigan Department of Natural Resources says it's bought 280 acres of land within the Manistee River watershed.

The state announced Wednesday that the parcel is surrounded by state-owned land located within the Cadillac Forest Management Unit in northeastern Wexford County, about 16 miles north of Cadillac.

A message seeking details about the terms of the purchase was left with a representative of the DNR.

The land fronts on the Manistee River and a tributary to Fife Lake Creek.
