CADILLAC -- A downstate teen was injured in a snowmobile crash in Wexford County's Henderson Township.
Emergency responders were called Saturday around 9:30 a.m. to a snowmobile trail where Russell Lowell Denker IV, 19, of Ionia, crashed. Denker missed a turn on a trail, hit a tree and was thrown from his Arctic Cat 900 snowmobile.
Denker's right leg was injured and he was air-lifted to Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, where he was listed in fair condition Saturday afternoon, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Wexford County sheriff's officials continue to investigate, though officials said preliminary evidence shows Denker was traveling too fast for hard-packed and icy trail conditions.
