DENVER (AP) — Two college students are dead following a house fire in Gunnison, Colo.
Officials identified the victims in Saturday’s blaze as 18-year-old Lucille Grace Causley of Harbor Springs and 21-year-old Adam Michael Lockard of Bethesda, Md.
Western State College of Colorado President Jay Helman says the school is shocked and deeply saddened.
Gunnison fire officials say the fire broke out about 5:20 a.m. in the 100 block of N. Colorado St.
An initial investigation indicated that the fire originated on the outside of the building and spread inside. Investigators are trying to determine whether the fire was intentionally set or accidental.
A Gunnison police officer and firefighter who responded to the scene were injured, treated and released.
