PETOSKEY — Detroit Free Press reporter M.L. Elrick will speak today and sign copies of his book about former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick at McLean & Eakin Booksellers in Petoskey.
Elrick received a Pulitzer Prize last year for his reporting on the text-messaging scandal that led to the unraveling of Kilpatrick's political career. He penned the book "The Kwame Sutra" with fellow Free Press reporter Jim Schaefer, with whom he shared the Pulitzer Prize.
The book is a collection of Kilpatrick quotations, including some never before published. It retails for $7.99.
Time magazine recently named the book "the perfect Detroit souvenir."
Elrick will appear today from 1 to 3 p.m. at the book store at 307 E. Lake St. in Petoskey.
