TRAVERSE CITY —
Police are investigating a serious shooting injury at a local gun range.
A man at Shooters Indoor Gun & Archery Range, a target range near the former Wilderness Crossing building on U.S. 31 South in Grawn, suffered an apparent gunshot shortly after 3 p.m. today.
Kevin Cook, who helped administer CPR to the victim, said he saw what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the man's chest.
"When I pulled his shirt up I saw a gunshot wound to the heart area of his torso," Cook said.
Grand Traverse Sheriff Tom Bensley said his department is investigating. He wouldn't comment further.
