Suspect turns himself in

KALKASKA — A man suspected of assaulting another man turned himself in after a manhunt that lasted much of the weekend.

The suspect, 41, turned himself into authorities late this morning, Kalkaska Sheriff Dave Israel said. He's expected to be arraigned this afternoon.

The suspect pointed a gun at another man at a home on Pontious Road at about 11 a.m. Saturday, then ran off into the woods with at least one gun.

Authorities from multiple departments searched for him.
