TRAVERSE CITY — Deputies found no explosives at two local movie theaters after a bomb threat.
Officials at Carmike Cinemas told authorities that their corporate offices, located in Georgia, received a threat last week that several bombs had been placed in Carmike theaters.
Explosive-detecting dogs from both the Grand Traverse sheriff's and Traverse City Police departments checked both local Carmike theaters in Garfield Township and found nothing. Both were searched and cleared prior to opening for business, so no evacuations were required.
