TRAVERSE CITY — There will be a small ceremony at the Peninsula Township Fire Department at 9 a.m. today to recognize the Fire Department's ongoing efforts to increase training for water and ice rescues.
Matt Mosher, a firefighter in the township, said the department will receive a Par Plan grant to fund the training. Mosher said the department is also engaged in a long-term plan to fund a marine rescue team. The ceremony will be at Station #1 at 14247 Center Road.
