TRAVERSE CITY - City Manager Ben Bifoss announced his retirement today, effective June 28, in a brief letter emailed to city commissioners this afternoon.
Bifoss did not give a reason for his impending departure but will make a formal announcement when he meets with the board today at 7 p.m. in the Governmental Center.
Bifoss replaced Richard Lewis as city manager and started with the city in November 2008.
